Waendel Walk 2019
Fancy getting fit? Raise awareness? and fund-raise at the same time? We would love you, your friends, and family to join us for our annual Waendel Walk. Our aim every year is not only to raise vital funds for our services but more importantly to raise awareness of mental health and to encourage people to talk. This year we are hoping to get more than 50 people to come together and help raise awareness of the fact that we all have mental health, that our mental health can change at any time during our lives, and that it’s okay to talk about it.
Walks take place all over the weekend and you are able to pick a walk distance and day to suit you. You can either make you own team and walk when you choose or join our ‘Mind’ team which will includes staff, volunteers and fundraisers, as a group we take part in the 9 mile (15km) walk on the Saturday morning. Here is what you need to do to take part
Join the ‘Mind’ team
All we ask is that walkers donate £5 for their entry fee, and pledge to raise a minimum of £15, this helps us cover the cost of the entry into the Waendel Walk and gets you a Mind t-shirt which we encourage you to wear on the day to help us reduce stigma. Download and return your application pack and we will get you signed up to our team emails:
Make you own team
We realise that not everyone wants to walk 9 miles, some of you might like the idea of walking the full 26 mile route, or for those with little ones or limited mobility there is a 3 mile walk too. Get together as a group and decided which day and walk you would like to take part in, download our sponsorship forms, set up a justgiving page (if you want to raise money online), once you are set up email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we know who you are, and we can supply you with Mind t-shirts for the event to help raise awareness.
As we wont know which walk or day you are choosing you will also need to book your own tickets for the event.
We are aiming to get over 50 people taking part in the event (and raise the minimum of £15) which means we will raise over
All money raised will be put towards local community projects in the Wellingborough area.
If you would like to talk to us about this event or need any further information please contact Oliver on 01933 223591 or alternatively email: email@example.com
