Mission

Wellingborough Mind works towards a society that promotes and protects good mental health for all, and that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively, and with respect. We campaign to improve policy and attitudes and, in partnership with other local Mind associations, develop quality services that can be accessed by people experiencing mental distress.

Aims

  • Advancing the views, needs and ambitions of people with
    experience of mental distress
  • Promoting inclusion through challenging discrimination
  • Influencing policy through campaigning and education
  • Develop quality services tailored to individual needs
  • Building confidence and providing skills in a suitable and relaxed environment
  • To enable people experiencing mental distress to live a
    more forfilling and rewarding life

Objectives

  • Promote better mental health by providing services to combat mental distress and informing our local community on positive wellbeing
  • Promote healthier lifestyles
  • Collaborate with other local and national agencies to ensure an outward looking approach
  • Support those with enduring mental health issues
  • Invest in alternative therapies and activities
  • Increase our ability to be self-sufficient to give us the opportunities to fund new projects

Board of trustees

Wellingborough Mind is governed by a board of trustees drawn from our local community. We speak for a diverse community, and aim to have that diversity reflected in our board of trustees.

The most important role of the board of trustees is to ensure that the organisation is acting at all times in pursuit of its mission. The board does this by meeting regulary to discuss Wellingborough Minds current activities and future strategic plan.
