Men and Mental Health: Mind week 2009
We know that some men havent always been encouraged to talk about their feelings. But everyone can feel low sometimes, and anyone can have a mental health problem. Thats why Mind is telling men to Get it off your chest for Mind week 2009.
Even though men and women experience mental health problems in roughly equal numbers, men are much less likely to be diagnosed and treated for it. One in three men with depression and anxiety feels embarrassed about asking for help. When Mind week kicks off on 9 May, we will launch our campaign taking a closer look at men and mental health. During the week of campaigning actions and awareness raising we will launch a new report, and the annual Mind awards will highlight some of the best work done about mental health over the past year.
